Religion in Sims 4 | Catholic Challenge Rules

Thank you for your interest in this challenge. I was curious about how I could make religion work in the Sims and couldn't find a challenge or anything for it so I decided to make my own in the Sims 4. You can follow this further through my video series playing it out, and let me know how you added religion to your gameplay!

Here's how it might work:

STARTING OUT -

Move one or two starter young adult Sim(s) in any affordable home or lot. They cannot have deviance aspirations or join the criminal career; if they join the astronaut career, they cannot follow the interstellar smuggler branch.

TRAITS: family-oriented / good / your choice
(if you make two Sims, one is family-oriented and one is good, but neither are both)

Build two additional lots: a church (museum lot) and a rectory (residential lot).

Church: convivial & sunny aspect traits
This will become a club hangout for a Youth Group club you make when your starter Sim(s) has/have children.

Rectory: peace and quiet trait
This will become the club hangout for the Religious Order club; the members are the resident of a separate household to be moved onto this lot.
Residents:
Priest: unflirty / good / your choice
The Priest may have a politician career or may register with the Ministry of Labor as a priest (only career-holder in this household)
2 Nuns/Friars: unflirty / your choice / your choice
None of these household members may have deviance, family, or love aspirations.

Youth Group club
Age: child, teen
Activities: do homework, be friendly, read
Banned Activities: be mean, be mischievous

Religious Order club
Age: young adult, adult, elderly
Trait: unflirty
Activities: read, give speech, meditate

RULES -

  • No cheats or God mode (you may not move dirty dishes to the sink or garbage; you must tell the Sims to clean up themselves)
  • Conservative clothing only
  • No vampires
  • Sims must find partners at Church (blind dates or saying yes to a date is acceptable)
  • Weddings and child-to-teen birthdays must be celebrated at Church (sacraments)
  • Sims must keep having children and can only Try for Baby (no WooHooing for fun)
  • One pet is allowed
  • Offspring traits must be random
  • Offspring move out once they reach young adulthood

Aging up:

Babies, Young Adults, and Adults age up on their birthday

Toddlers may age up once all skills reach level 3
Children may age up once two skills reach level 3 AND they have an A in school
Teens may age up once one character value is within level to receive a positive reward trait

But what if a random trait makes a Sim evil? Rebellious Catholics! (May also be excommunicated or leave the Church on their own)

Evil teens may age up once one character value is within level to receive a negative reward trait AND once the teen has a bad relationship with at least one parent or the priest
Evil Sims can have criminal careers or may follow the interstellar smuggler branch
Evil Sims can have a deviance aspiration
Evil Sims may WooHoo for fun
Evil Sims can have positive relationships with vampires

Additionally...
If a Sim is unflirty and good, OR if a Sim becomes best friends with a member of the Rectory household, they join the Religious Order club and move into the Rectory

How will you tell your Sims story?
